About the Institute

The Klokner Institute became known as the first research institute within the Czech University of Technology (CTU) in Prague and ranked among the four oldest independent scientific workplaces of this type in Europe. Today it is a self-sufficient institution combining scientific and research activities which are closely linked to educational activities. In most of them, the KI has an exclusive and irreplaceable position not only within the CTU in Prague but in the entire Czech Republic.

Activities of the Klokner Institute in Prague

In addition to scientific research and teaching activities, the Institute also develops expert cooperation in solving technical problems with industry and the state administration bodies. The Institute also develops national and international standardization activities.

The activities cover five areas:

  1. scientific research and development activity,
  2. educational activity,
  3. expert and consulting activities for industry and state administration,
  4. activities of the Accredited Testing Laboratory,
  5. national and international standardization.
