Cooperation

As an independent research institute of the CTU, the Klokner Institute establishes cooperation with companies both in the Czech Republic and abroad. Such cooperation basically involves qualitative and quantitative research on the reliability of structures, monitoring of the behavior of buildings, and the associated processing of expert opinions on the safety of materials and structures.

PRUNEROV II POWER STATION

An extensive set of structural and technical surveys, diagnostic works and structural assessments were carried out as part of the Comprehensive Renovation of the Prunéřov II Power Plant project. The subject of the surveys were more than 30 different buildings, the most important of which are the boiler house, the engine room, the cooling towers, the coal handling system and a set of water management structures. The output was an assessment of the facilities assessed with regard to their service life and reliability until 2040, and proposals for their reconstruction, including an estimate of the extent of repairs required.

BUILDING OF TYPOGRAPHY IN PRAGUE NA POŘÍČÍ

The extensive survey of the reinforced concrete skeleton supplemented by load-bearing masonry structures focused mainly on the determination of the structural system of the building, the identification of materials and their mechanical properties, the issue of masonry moisture, reinforcement of reinforced concrete elements of the structure, the corrosion state of the reinforcement and the determination of the composition of the ceiling structures.

WALTER COMPLEX IN PRAGUE JINONICE

In the Walter complex in Prague Jinonice, diagnostics of the structures of three buildings was carried out. The load-bearing structures of the buildings consisted of a reinforced concrete skeleton supplemented with masonry. The diagnostic work focused mainly on the determination of the reinforcement of the structural elements, mechanical properties of concrete and reinforcement, or determination of the strength and moisture content of masonry.
